MAY 2014
Neci
Neci is a first grader and has been taking piano lessons at the academy for two years. In addition to her lessons with Miss Mavis, Neci enjoys swimming, roller blading, skiing, and reading. Her favorite song that she has learned is “The Rainbow” by Alfred. According to her teacher, “ Neci is a student who is always well prepared, has great patience, and is willing to learn.”

APRIL 2014
Kari
Kari is a guitar and voice student of Ms.  Melissa. She is 16 years old, and has been taking lessons at the academy for almosttwo years. She enjoys writing, and her favorite song that she has learned in lessonsis “DNA” by Little Mix. According to her teacher, “Kari is a great student, and her work ethic is impeccable. She’s always prepared for class and to pursue music to the maximum.”

MARCH 2014
Janessa
Janessa studies piano with Ms. Viri, and is in the fourth grade. Her favorite school subject is Science, and she enjoys working with clay in art class. Her favorite song that she has learned in lessons is "Minuet in G" by J.S. Bach. According to her teacher, "Janessa is an exceptional student and person. She comes with a smile to every lesson and leaves with a smile. She consistently comes prepared to play what she had for homework and takes on any  challenge with a positive attitude."

February 2014

Jayden
Jayden is a piano student of Ms. Jennifer, and has been taking lessons at the academy for over a year. He enjoys art class at school, and likes to play football and play with his sister. His favorite song that he has learned in lessons is the “Theme from 
Star Wars” by John Williams. According to his teacher, “Jayden is one of the best students I've ever had. He is hardworking, dedicated and practices every day. He is a natural on the piano and I can't wait to see how far he will go.

November 2013

Diego Garcia
Diego is a piano student of Susan Muljana and has been taking lessons at the academy for over three years. He is a sixth grader who enjoys Science and History, as well as photography and swimming. His favorite song that he has learned in lessons is the theme from "Star Wars" by John Williams. According to his teacher, "Diego is a great student. He makes time for weekly practice despite his busy schedule. He is always polite and funny. Having him as my student makes my teaching rewarding and enjoyable."

OCTOBER 2013

Chloe Vuong

Chloe is a violin student of Candace Murphy and has been taking lessons at the academy for over a year. She is in the second grade and enjoys reading, drawing, writing, and playing with her younger sister. Her favorite song that she has learned in lessons is “Concert Song” by Frost. According to her teacher, “Chloe is a wonderful student! She has great practice habits and participates in awards recitals. Because of her practice habits, she continues to progress at a good pace and plays very well.”

 

SEPTEMBER 2013

Paul Diaz

Paul is a piano student of Deborah Apodaca and has been taking lessons at the academy for three years. He is in the third grade and enjoys playing basketball, baseball, soccer, and football. His favorite song that he has learned in lessons is “Whirling Leaves” by Faber. According to his teacher, “Paul loves making his music have character. Every time he plays, there is a story or picture playing in his head. One of my favorite things about Paul is he says ‘music is really hard, but I can do it!’ which helps him to keep moving forward and playing beautifully.”

AUGUST 2013

Issac Caldas

Isaac is a piano student of Sasha Manukian and has been taking lessons at the academy for four years. He is a freshman in high school and enjoys classes in Math and Science. His hobbies include listening to music. His favorite song that he has learned in lessons is Waltz from the “Adventures of Ivan” by Khachaturian. According to his teacher, “Issac is one of those rare students that every teacher hopes to get the chance to teach.” 

JUNE 2013

Nathan Liu

Nathan is a violin student of Candace Murphy, and has been taking lessons at the academy for almost 2 years. As a second grader, his favorite school subject is Science and he enjoys reading and playing kickball. His favorite song that he has learned in lessons is “Allegretto” by Suzuki.  According to his teacher, “Nathan is a fantastic student who enjoys performing in the academy’s recitals. Because of his focus in class and practice habits, he has made great progress in a short time and plays well.”  

 

MAY 2013

Julia Nogi

Julia is a clarinet student of Dan Levin and a guitar student of Jordan Roepke. She is in the 6th grade and has been taking lessons at the academy for almost two years. Her favorite school subjects are English and P.E., and she enjoys playing basketball. Her favorite clarinet song that she has learned is “Gavotte” by Gossec. According to Mr. Levin, “Julia is an absolutely wonderful student. Her quick application of all corrections and suggestions has helped her to develop a beautiful sound on the clarinet. With her talent and dedication, she will go far as a clarinetist and musician.”

 

APRIL 2013

Isabella Farino

Isabella Farino is a student of Summer Ferrante and has been taking piano lessons at the academy for almost two years. Her favorite school subject is Science, and she loves to go rock climbing, play basketball, and audition for commercials. She has already done one commercial, which will be coming out in Germany this December. Her favorite song that she has learned in lessons is "Cheer for the Blue" by John Thompson. According to her teacher, "Isabella practices 30 minutes a day, 5-6 times a week and does very well in her lessons. She has a great attitude in class and is a pleasure to teach!"

Danielle Workman

Danielle Workman is a piano student of Erin Rametta, and has been taking lessons at the academy for two years. Her favorite school subject is Art, and her hobbies include gymnastics and ballet. Her favorite song that she has learned is “The Prankish Kitten” by Kotek. Danielle is delighted to be recognized as student of the month. According to her teacher, “Danielle has progressed very quickly in the two years that she has been at the academy. She practices six days a week and performs in every recital.”

FEBRUARY 2013

Micah Sanders

Micah is a violin student of Morgan Roberts and has been taking lessons at the academy for three years. His favorite school subject is English, and he also enjoys swimming, dancing, singing, and listening to music. Through lessons and the encouragement of his teacher, Micah has developed a passion for music. His favorite song that he has learned is “Perpetual Motion” by Bohm. According to his teacher, “Micah has shown tremendous advances in the last year. His practice habits have improved and his comprehension of advanced violin techniques has matured. It is a pleasure to see Micah grow as a musician.”
